Variables
Lesser Scaup
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with more than 4%
wetlands and wet shrubland. Where less wetlands and wet shrubland, it
occurred mainly in hexagons with a relatively dry April precipitation
(hex. med.) of 13-30 mm. Where no wetlands and wet shrubland, it
occurred mostly in hexagons with more than 43% juniper woodland.
The logistic regression analysis showed positive or negative
association with wetlands and wet shrubland, number of land cover
types, April precipitation (hex. med.), and-to a lesser degree-Sitka
spruce - w. hemlock maritime forest, the extent of public land, road
density, April precipitation (hex. max.), April maximum temperature
(hex. max.), and July maximum temperature (hex. max.).
